Horizon Logistics has a job opportunity for a Logistics Account Specialist in Dallas, Texas.

Responsible for providing a one point of contact for key logistics accounts.

Interfaces with Pricing, Documentation and Customer Service regarding commercial and operational issues. Qualifies accounts and prepares rate proposals for customers.

Ideal candidate will have: 3-5 years experience in International Transportation, specifically Ocean and Intermodal. Telemarketing experience preferred. Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously & to quickly shift priorities Effective verbal and written communication skills, strong listener. Relationship Skills – works effectively with internal customers, external client base and international team counterparts Strong negotiation skills. Ability to travel in U.S. Horizon Logistics offers a competitive compensation (base and bonus) and Benefit Program. NVOCC, Freight Forwarding experience preferred

Key Competencies and Skills

Technical/Functional: Experience in a sales support role in the transportation industry, customer service or related supporting fields. Tele-sales experience preferred. High degree of computer literacy in e-mail, word processing, Excel, graphics, power point, Access and internet research.

Has a working knowledge of the strategic and tactical alliances between the various business segments of Horizon Logistics including Sea Logix, Aero Logistics and Horizon Lines.

Adaptability: Adapts to change and maintains a positive attitude; fosters teamwork. Performs well in undefined situations, maintains constructive behavior, and performs well under demanding situations.

Creativity and Innovativeness: Generates and communicates new insights, ideas. Designs and develops forms and systems to facilitate workflow.

Planning and Organization: Able to formulate plans/strategies & forecast trends and developments. Manages time efficiently and effectively, with an appropriate sense of urgency, and works well with others. Anticipates needs, plans schedules and handles multiple tasks and projects. Structures tasks and objectives, sets priorities efficiently, designs and executes administrative systems. Prioritizes and coordinates tasks to facilitate a smooth, timely and productive workflow.

Initiative and Drive and Energy: Self-starter and capable of initiating action. Demonstrates high level of energy over sustained periods. Generates high volume results-oriented work.

Interpersonal and Communication: Develop and sustain external and internal relationships. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills as well as good listening and understanding skills.
