National Accounts Representative

Primary Purpose: As an individual contributor the National Accounts Manager is the key point of contact between a specific customer and Stevens Transport and manages customer expectations against operational capabilities.  Applicants must have direct customer service experience working for a transportation provider.

Essential Functions:
o Reviews and analyzes EDI data and approves accurate data, rejects incomplete or erroneous data, supply modified data to EDI coordinators, releases verified data to customer and provides comments pertinent to specific shipments for EDI as needed.
o Communicates with a specific customer on a daily basis to secure shipment orders.
o Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
o Resolves shipper and receiver issues within scope of authority; communicates with Supervisor pertinent to issues
beyond scope of authority.
o Follows Company protocol and policies to schedule pick up and delivery of shipments.
o Tracks and maintains current reports pertinent to pick up and delivery of shipments
o Investigates problems pertinent to loads in transit; communicates findings with customer and appropriate departments
o Use exemplary telephone skills to present a quality oriented image where the Customer is treated in a consistent, courteous, and efficient manner, so that the impression is one excellence.
o Communicate effectively in a professional office environment.
o Communicates with Dispatch pertinent to special needs situations i.e., trailers, loading, delivery etc.
o On a daily basis reviews Unloading Report to identify unsubstantiated unloading activities.
o Communicates with point of contact at customer location regarding handling of equipment left at customer location after shipment delivery.
o Uses Qualcomm to communicate pick up and/or delivery information to drivers as required.

o Daily distributes Booking Report reflecting information regarding method of transport for shipment.
o Maintains current log for new business activity from designated group of customers.
o Assigns and inputs customer codes into AS/400
Inputs freight information into AS/400.
o Communicates with Brokerage Group and Rail Group to ensure maximize shipments are secured for the Company.
