Oracle DBA / Applications Developer

An established Third Party Logistics Company with climate controlled, warehousing/distribution and Co-Packing centers is currently recruiting for the position of Oracle DBA / Applications Developer in support of our Waco Texas and Hazleton Pennsylvania locations.  This position can originate from either location and is responsible to lead all IT related infrastructure advancements and system process developments to include ensuring appropriate support for all local users/workstations/servers, maintaining connectivity to remote applications, and using technology and programming to turn operational inefficiencies into productive processes.  In addition to the following, the ideal candidate will possess a strong background and experience in PL/SQL and Visual Basic programming a must.

 

Tasks/Responsibilities:The primary responsibility is to support, monitor and enhance the Oracle Database and MARC Warehouse Management System (WMS) application.  Supports operational processes through programming, data extraction for user requests and initiatives aimed at improving warehouse information systems and inventory control accuracy.Must have the ability to take an idea of how a process should work systematically, as described by our operations team, and make it a reality through programming modifications and enhancements.Must be able to work independently in managing multiple tasks/projects through their successful completion.Responsible for site IT budget and managing related expenditures. Interacts with vendors to represent company interests in acquiring the best possible value of equipment and services provided. 

Skills/Qualifications:

§ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience in a technical field. This experience should result in the ability to understand complex technical requirements and communicate them clearly in a verbal or written format.

§ Must have knowledge and experience with Relational Databases, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL scripting & programming, ODBC, Active Directory, Windows Networking and Cisco knowledge.

§ Knowledge of Unix Shell Scripting and/or MARC system knowledge highly desirable.

§ Must have knowledge and experience with Windows XP workstation, Windows 2003 Server and general hardware.

§ Strong knowledge of networking required.

§ Ability and experience programming in Visual Basic required.

§ Operational knowledge of a distribution environment and WMS system is a plus.
