Safety Director

Description JOB DESCRIPTION/OPPORTUNITY: Millennium Rail, Inc.(a subsidiary of WATCO Companies, Inc.) has an opportunity for a Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety Director. “Safety” is the main emphasis for this position in the short and long term. Reporting to the VP of Safety, this individual will be responsible for developing a safety-minded culture and instilling it in our operations across multiple rail car manufacturing and repair facilities. Will work with Plant Managers and site EH&S Coordinators to initiate and implement efforts in pursuit of this goal. This is not a maintenance position. This is a management position for a leader with vision to create a world class safety environment in our business. You will drive the change! In addition, this individual has overall responsibility for industrial hygiene and any environmental issues related to our manufacturing processes. This individual will work out of our Hockley, Texas facility. This is a hands-on position with approximately 50%-60% travel.   Requirements The ideal candidate will have 5+ years EH&S management experience in a manufacturing environment, have experience creating and implementing programs leading to an accident-free workplace and an undergraduate EH&S or related degree. Must be hands-on, experienced with change management, an excellent communicator capable of driving the safety process and have a broad knowledge of Federal and State statutes regarding industrial safety and environmental issues. An intimate knowledge of OSHA regulations concerning railcar repair operations is essential.
