Vice President of Material Acquisition Programs

Vice President of Material Acquisition Programs Taos Industries, Inc., a subsidiary of Agility Defense and Government Services, Inc is $300 million dollar business which provides military products and logistical services to the Department of Defense and foreign military sales customers.  The company has offices in several states as well as Eastern Europe.   Summary The Vice President of Material Acquisition Programs is responsible for overseeing the purchase and delivery to the U.S. government of $120M annually in foreign and domestic manufactured ground and air combat systems, security equipment including arms and ammunition, and associated components and repair parts. Manages business development, quality assurance, compliance, shipping and warehousing operations, and overseas offices for assigned programs.   The job description does not constitute an employment agreement between the employer and employee and is subject to change by the employer as the needs of the employer and requirements of the job change.   RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for achieving company revenue and profitability goals for assigned programs. Develops business in accordance with assigned revenue goals and the company’s strategic vision. Leads major proposals. Ensures effective execution of assigned programs within cost, schedule, and performance goals... Develops strategic partnerships with U.S. and foreign suppliers. Identifies and develops business opportunities to leverage the resources and capabilities of the parent company, Agility DGS. Represents the company to the DoD customer, the local community, company suppliers, and International customers. Oversees the company ISO 9000 program. Manages four Directorates, three U.S. offices, two overseas offices, and a staff of approximately 40 technical and administrative personnel. Ensures operations are conducted in accordance with Special Security Agreement requirements. Ensures international operations are conducted in compliance with ITAR and other import/export requirements. Reports to the President/CEO on business status and issues. Other duties as assigned. Communicates directly with executives and senior officials within Taos, Agility DGS, defense industry partners, foreign governments, and DoD customers. Is expected to communicate effectively with customers and suppliers using well developed written and verbal communicative skills. Authorized to commit up to $1 million dollars on behalf of the company. Experience Minimum Bachelors degree in a Technical or Business Field.  Masters in Business or management preferred. Twelve or more years of experience with DoD Acquisition and/or Services Programs.  Must be knowledgeable of US government contracting to include preparation or proposals, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and compliance. Must be knowledgeable of ITAR and export compliance rules and regulations. At least five years experience managing a business or technical staff. Procurement experiences within DoD a plus. Experience working in an ISO 9000 company desired Experience conducting business with a foreign government of company desired.
