Position Description:

Primary Objective of Position
This position will oversee the follow departments: Vacation Center, Navy Exchange, Visitors Quarters, AFWWL HelpDesk and Friends & Family. Primary focus is on leisure travel with emphisis on growning the leisure revenues dramatically over the next two years. This candidate will oversee both in-house and telecommuter employees.

To ensure a profitable branch operation consistent with company standards in the areas of customer service, agent productivity, profitability, accounts receivable control, and operating procedures.

Major Areas of Accountability
1) Manages profitable operations through monitoring staffing, service and quality levels on a day-to-day basis. Works with staff to ensure productivity, accounting, human resources and operational standards are met at the lowest possible cost per transaction while providing optimum customer service.

2) Grows leisure business through local marketing and promotions.

3) Works closely with Contract Officers Representative (COR) and CWT Dir. Of Business Development to see that each new account is serviced. Handles complaints, answers inquiries, delivers and explains corporate reports.

4) Analyzes monthly profit and loss statement reviewing for accuracy, changes and improvements. As appropriate, creates SMART action plans to correct problems identified as a result of this analysis.

5) Monitors direct labor costs and other branch expenses to meet and/or exceed company standards. Works with teams to monitor staffing levels, including scheduling time off and requests for additions and replacements to staff. Ensures that part-time/flex-time employees are utilized effectively to meet operational needs.

6) Trains and develops subordinates either personally or through delegation. Training includes first day and continued orientation to ensure that they are well-prepared, will-informed, and fully qualified to fulfill the requirements of their position. Prepares subordinates demonstrating advancement potential for promotion into supervisory and management positions. May utilize CWT training and vendor training if necessary

7) Prepares annual budget based upon an evaluation of past performance and realistic future plans.

8) Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.

9) Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

10) Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

11) Performs all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel assigned:
A. Maintains a qualified staff
B. Communicates areas of accountability and performance expected
of personnel assigned
C. Determines standards of performance as a basis to review progress
of personnel assigned
D. Recommends salary adjustments, transfers, promotions, and
 dismissals
E. Ensures proper training of personnel assigned
F. Fosters a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to
maximum employee morale and productivity
G. Develops individuals for future advancement


Position Requirements:

Knowledge and Skill Required
BA in business administration or equivalent experience, travel school education and a minimum of three to five years in a travel agency supervisory or management position.
Must be computer proficient on the Sabre CRS system.

Position has opportunity for independent action, recommends policy.

Position has very important impact; has opportunity to directly improve profit margins through job accountabilities. Responsible for branch budget.

Leadership skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to research alternatives and choose the best solution.
