Learn More about Company Collections Supervisor, NationalsSummary Supervises the Nationals collection team and coordinates with sales, customer and customer service in the resolution of related issues. Reviews functional report data and recommends suggestions based upon findings.courts.Tasks & Accountabilities Develop and implement collection strategies and goals which drive results and improve cash flow metrics. Develop and sustain relationships with peers to ensure best practice methods and procedures are communicated and implemented across teams. Monitor and control staff and performance data in real time and on historical and cumulative basis making appropriate decisions to ensure staff and portfolio success through maximization of resourcesEstablish written individual and team performance goals that drive the team?s performance to achieve team objectives. Benchmark key industry collection measures to drive results to superior performance levels. Continuous improvement of operational performance by re-engineering existing processes to drive improved productivity. Improve, track and develop areas of poor performance. Perform analysis of customer accounts to reduce risk of loss due to bad debt and protect company assets. Tracks and makes decisions on treatment of corporate bad debt and DSO for cash flow purposes. Acts as a liaison with customers and executives in Sales and other internal departments in the resolution of problem accounts. Determines policies on written, telephone, and personal follow up for collections and past due accounts. Establishes and manages key performance indicators for individual and unit measurement/evaluation. May personally handle more complex and larger accounts. .Prepares and presents management reporting as needed. Supervises two or more staff; responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing subordinate staff. Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes.Skills & Qualifications Complete understanding and wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in function or business area. An advanced understanding of specific aspects of work supervised and practical application to problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Knows and effectively uses fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures relative to quality and productivity improvements, training, budgeting and cost control, and progressive techniques in area of specialization. Generally understands basic supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, and disciplinary action. Typically requires BS/BA and 3-5 years experience in related field, including at least one year of supervisory experience. Professional certification required in some areas.
