Logistics Account Executive Trainee

Primary Responsibilities:

Initially you will be a Logistics Account Executive Trainee (LAET). As you learn more about the industry, our computer tools and reach sales goals you will advance toward the position of Logistics Account Executive (LAE).  During your development in this role you will be responsible for the following:

 

-Act as the liaison between the client, carrier, shipper and receiver

-Negotiate fair rates with both the client and the carrier based on the type of commodity, season, distance of travel and time and location of pick up and delivery

-Manage the movement of the client’s goods, ensuring they are picked up and delivered on time to the client’s satisfaction

-Build a portfolio of clients by actively researching and seeking out prospects

-Develop relationships with these clients and strengthen your client base by providing excellent customer service

 

Tasks Performed:

-Generating leads and prospecting for new accounts

-Assist with daily load activities to ensure that goods are picked up and delivered on time

-Locate carriers for negotiated loads

-Communicate at least twice a day with the carrier during transport, from pick-up to delivery

-Accurately enters and maintains up-to-date information on a continuous basis in the Load Manager Database system

-Work quickly to resolve problems that may develop on a load

-Actively participate in training programs, both classroom and on the job, readily accepting feedback and suggestions for improvement 

 

Essential Functions:

-At least 25 wpm typing skills

-Able to simultaneously handle multiple phone lines

 

Desired Education:

-Degree preferred but not required

 

Desired Job Experience:

-Sales experience preferred

 

Other Qualifications:

-Strong work ethic, energetic, fast learner

-Strong negotiation and persuasion skills

-Self directed and good problem solving skills

-Ability to work in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities

-Strong verbal communication skills

-Proficient in basic word processing and spreadsheet applications
