Locomotive Electrician and Machinist

LOCOMOTIVE ELECTRICIAN General Summary

Responsible for the efficient inspection, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and installation of locomotive electrical wiring and equipment such as motors, generators, lighting and other electrical components to ensure conformance with FRA, company, and customer specifications in a safe and reliable manner.

 

Education/Experience

High school education or general education development (GED); preferred 3 to 6 months job-related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Apprenticeship:  Must have a perceived aptitude in the Electrical field and demonstrating a desire to learn required.

 

Certificates and Licenses

Valid State Driver’s License. 

 

 

LOCOMOTIVE MACHINIST General Summary

Responsible for the efficient inspection, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and installation of locomotive mechanical systems and equipment such as diesel engine, wheels / truck repair, air brake and other mechanical components to ensure conformance with FRA, company, and customer specifications.

 

Education/Experience

High school education or general education development (GED); preferred 3 to 6 months job-related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Apprenticeship:  Must have a perceived aptitude in the mechanical field / diesel engines and demonstrating a desire to learn required.

 

Certificates and Licenses

Valid State Driver’s License.
