Logistics Coordinator - 2nd shift

I. POSITION: Logistics Coordinator, Automotive II. POSITION SUMMARY: Receives some orders, dispatches equipment, traces some shipments if necessary and negotiates rates when needed on a per load basis. III. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: A. Books and dispatches loads for plant and carrier pool facilities. B. Coordinates shipping requirements (i.e. equipment, shipping hours) with shipper as necessary. C. Coordinates information with Customer Service - driver support. D. Maintains carrier locations and verifies rates on individual shipments. Updates information as available. E. Inputs accessorial charges as needed. F.  Makes recommendations as to procedure improvements. IV. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Supports company’s commitment to ISO certification. B. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. V. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: A. High school diploma or equivalent. B. 1 year transportation or customer service experience or a college degree in a related field. C. Good organizational and analytical skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. D. Strong communication skills; works well under pressure; team player. E. Broad knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred. F.  Ability to use standard office equipment such as computer terminal, calculator, fax machine and copier.
