Position Description:
Manages the plans and negotiates the media planning and buying and has responsibilities for copywriting of METRO's marketing, advertising and promotional campaigns. Manages and oversees staff and coordinates efforts to ensure the customer's marketing and communication needs are met by successfully delivering effective, quality marketing materials to customers in a timely manner and within budget.Create integrated marketing and communications programs and materials through coordination of staff.Provide functional direction and supervision to staff.
- Assure staff understands job responsibilities. Sets staff goals and objectives.
- Provides training and dvelopment for Advertising Account Executives.
- Directs the staff developmental activities in the accomplishment of their objectives.
- Conducts annual and semi-annual reviews of staff and provides feedback on regular basis.
-Develops recommendations for personnel actions; new-hires, promotions, terminations, etc.Plans and assigns communications projects to staff.Supervises work provided outside vendors and ensures continuity in internal and external communications.Research initiatives, market conditions and opportunities and pertinent industry practices. Develop and review marketing strategies and plans for internal customers.Promote consistent value proposition and corporate brand identify through marketing communications. May attend various organizational meetings to promote and increase ridership and sales.Manages and oversees copywriting for METRO's marketing, advertising and promotional campaigns such as but not limited to television and radio advertising, public service announcements, print collateral and other projects to be determined.Manages and negotiates media buying via print, radio, television, sponsorhip, etc.Negotiates joint promotions with retail and media outlets.Serves as the primary contact for media accounts. Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlet representatives, accounts and prospects.Oversees the coordination of special/promotional events.Oversees budgeting, tracks expenditures and provide financial analyses for projects.Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s in marketing or related field. A combination of education may be accepted in lieu of the degree requirement.Minimum eight (8) years related experience required to include three (3) years supervisory/management experience. Media background preferred.Ability to manage and direct multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of advertising agency procedures. Ability to supervise personnel at various levels. Strong organizational skills. Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
