Description of position:

§  Daily administration of all operational and functional aspects of Windows based servers and Active Directory environment. This person will monitor and maintain all components of the windows server operating environment including system, software and hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics. This position will implement new software and systems solutions and maintain current levels of system integrity. Key responsibilities include monitoring the system software and components on all windows servers and correcting abnormalities, researching and developing solutions to enhance current systems, providing 3rd tier support to other Information Services staff, implementing and enforcing security and system policies, evaluating new technologies to enhance our client's computing environments, and applying maintenance and feature updates to current operating and system software.



Daily tasks and responsibilities:

§ Daily administration of server, network, VOIP & E-commerce infrastructure environments

§ Assist with daily IT operations as needed

§ Assist in integration of new applications and technologies

§ Assist in maintaining network diagrams, drawings and documentation

§ Provide training and documentation to others as needed or required

§ Work closely with other areas of the business

§ Provide on call support as needed

§ Occasional off hours work required including weekends

§ Serve as helpdesk escalation resource

§ Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

§ 5+ years working in a Microsoft centric environment

§ 2+ years experience with network/systems administration

§ 2+ years working with Windows 2000/2003 Server and Active Directory

§ 2+ years working in an end user support role

 

Knowledge and talents recommended for job success:

§ MCSE 2003 certification

§ Microsoft Exchange and Symantec Backup Exec software experience a plus

§ Must be team oriented and willing to assist other members when needed

§ Must possess good problem determination/troubleshooting skills

§ Knowledge of the travel industry (Sabre, Amadeus, etc.) a plus

§ Excellent written and oral communication skills

§ Able to commit and complete projects on time and within a set budget

§ Must be motivated, able to work independently, multi-task and respond to changing priorities

§ Possess excellent customer service skills

§ Must be willing and able to work nights and weekends as needed

§ Good organization and communication skills
