Operations Assistant

The Operations Assistant's principal duty is to provide support to the Fleet Manager and Vessel Managers in the operation of vessels.

Requirements:

- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills, including: MS Word and MS Excel

Duties:

- Maintain vessel files and records as instructed by the Vessel Manager
- Arrange cash advances to Master as and when required
- Staying abrest of the vessel's movements and agents for each port of call.  Ensuring that the position reports from the vessels are entered weekly into the vessel position report
- Prepare vessel agent disbursement accounts
- Updating and tidiness of all files specified in area of responsibility
- Assist with sending outgoing mail and messages as required
- Recording notices to Mariners received and/or sent
- In case of emergencies, performs duties as required by  the Contingency Manual
- Assists Fleet Manager in monitoring vessels operating expenses and comparing against budgets
- Provide back-up function to Office Administrator
