Production Artist

 Gate 1 Travel is a major international tour operator, providing travel services to Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and the Caribbean. We provide high-quality independent and guided/escorted tours for North American leisure tourists. We are a rapidly growing organization with immediate openings in our brand new state of the art facility located in Fort Washington, PA. New hire will be responsible for providing desktop publishing services for the layout and production of brochures, fliers, advertisements, promotional materials and office stationery. They will also consult and collaborate with internal departments and, in some cases, external clients to develop and execute design plans and complete projects in a time-sensitive manner. Specific tasks include:

Brochure, Flier & Promotional Material Production:

Design

Photo manipulation, retouching, color correction

Typesetting (including the conversion of text from PC Office programs to Quark)

Create maps with tour routing or hotel locations

Prepare for print (catalog artwork, convert files, prepare materials, etc.)

Proof

 Advertising

Prepare for print (involves coordinating with each publication how files may be accepted)

Miscellaneous

Maintain archives of all printed materials, as well as artwork

General maintenance and troubleshooting of Mac, all of its peripherals and printer

Proofreading all materials for accuracy, spelling and consistency

Requirements include desktop publishing and typesetting skills, in-depth understanding of current Macintosh computer applications and technology, including Quark XPress, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, InDesign and scanning software/technology.

Familiarity with HTML, graphics formats and cross platform issues a plus. Minimum 2 years experience necessary.
