Security Systems Administrator

MTA/Bridges and Tunnels, the largest bridge and tunnel authority in the nation is seeking a Security Systems Administrator in our New York office. This position protects and safeguards MTA Bridges and Tunnels revenue as well as property and personnel by ensuring that all Agency electronic security systems are properly configured and administered.

 

In this position, you will be responsible for coordinating security issues with internal partners and outside agencies to ensure our security systems are optimally configured; assisting with the design and implementation of future security enhancements as well as other new electronic security projects; supporting our current systems; developing databases; assisting with security operations initiatives; and supporting the Security Operations Center.

 

The requirements are: an Associate degree, along with 5 years of experience with operating, maintaining and administering access control, intrusion detection, CCTV or similar electronic systems. Knowledge of fiber-optic video, data transmission systems (LAN/WAN systems and CISCO infrastructure and devices)  digital and network video storage and distribution systems, advanced intrusion detection systems, advanced computer networks and related systems, enterprise level access control systems, and other relevant technologies. Proficiency in MS Windows based operating systems and applications, Oracle, Linux, access control, intrusion detection, CCTV and intercom systems as well as applications such as Crystal Reports, Intergraph, Lenel, C-Cure, Pelco, Broadware, NICE, Zetron or other similar systems. Excellent multi-tasking, prioritizing, organizational, analytical, problem solving, statistical, management, verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work rotating and non-traditional tours (evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, etc.) as well as the ability to respond to any authority location on a 24/7 basis. A driver’s license valid in the State of New York.

 

We prefer previous experience in mass/public transportation systems, in security management to include personnel, information and computer security; knowledge of security best practices, both physical and electronic, geographic familiarity with the NYC/Metropolitan region, and the ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and technical documentation.
