Position Description:
Serves as the primary interface with stakeholders along a given corridor. Ensure that METRO's construction plans and course of action is coordinated and known among department staff, government entities, area residents and business owners. Effectively communicates and responds to stakeholder requests for current project information, and collaborates closely with Community Outreach Sector Representatives to solve impeding issues affecting the larger community.Facilitates corridor construction and planning meetings as designated by the METRO Solutions staff.Works closely with METRO Solutions staff, Facility Providers, Communications and Marketing to formulate and disseminate information to stakeholders and businesses within the corridor.Conduct public hearings and day to day facilitation of key meetings, such as station area and design and access management meetings.Coordinate/facilitate pre-construction meetings with stakeholders.Alerts Stakeholder Affairs Manager to sensitive issues and public responses to corridor study development.Develops and implements plan with the Community Outreach Sector Representative and Manager to accomplish division goals.Assists with developing written or visual/audio communication for the benefit of stakeholders and businesses within the impacted corridor.Collaborates with Manager of Stakeholder Affairs and Community Outreach Sector Representatives in creating strategic plans to overcome public dissatisfaction with corridor improvements.Performs other dutes as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:Bachelors Degree in Public Relations, Political Science, Journalism, or Business.Minimum of six (6) to eight (8) years professional progressive experience in the community outreach field.Public agency or experience in dealing in political arenas or with political organizations preferred.An equivalent combination of related education and experience in Public Relations or Community Relations or Media relations or similar function may be substituted for the above stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.Requires a valid Texas Drivers License.Excellent communication (written/verbal) skills.Bi-lingual abilities in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Chinese a plus.Strong project management and organizational skills.Knowledge of personal computers and related software; MS Office.
