Senior Technical Project Manager - Software Development

Senior Technical Project Manager Are you an experienced Technical Project Manager who would like to bring best practices to a technology team that operates like a start-up? My client needs your expertise to manage projects, create specifications, and work with business users to ensure smooth development/deployment of a large-scale client-server application as well as other technology projects. In this role, you will: Maintain master program schedule: including pertinent system release dates, milestones, critical path items, and/or program interdependencies. Facilitate prioritization among competing agendas and negotiate trade-offs between internal cross-functional groups, partners and client resources. Facilitate the analysis, design and creation of functional and technical specifications in conjunction with the development team. Provide consistent and comprehensive status reports, significant issue tracking, and communication with project team on a regular basis. Manage daily and weekly agile activities with the development teams. Work with business analyst team to ensure project specifications for new and existing projects are feasible and aligned with company’s technical vision. Coordinate project scope estimations with development team and business analysts. Ensure business requirements and documentation are adequate for technical implementation and provide feedback on the process to the business analyst team. Work with developers, Quality Assurance, and implementation teams to deliver projects on time within budget. Conceives, creates, develops establishes and publishes new project management techniques, methods, procedures, approaches and standards that facilitate efficient software delivery. Participates in certain aspects of end user consulting, systems analysis, general systems design, vendor contracts and detail systems design. Qualified candidates will have: 5+ years of technical Project Management experience. 1-3 years technical specification development experience, working directly with developers. Ability to author technical specifications, including envisaged usage cases, customer scenarios, and prioritized requirements lists. Ability to lead within a product’s life cycle using evangelism, empathy, and negotiation to define and deliver results. Familiarity with managing complex project schedules, solving complex problems, and nurturing cross-group collaboration. 1+ years development experience. Proficiency in MS Team Foundation Server, MSWord, MSExcel, and Outlook Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Business preferred. PMP certification preferred.
