Service Specialist

AFC Worldwide Express is a leading transportation and logistics provider located in Grapevine, Texas.  We are looking for Service Specialist who are self-motivated, professional, persistent, and courteous and whodemonstrate a strong work ethic. 

Service Specialists are responsible for the execution and service of all extended offerings of AFC to its customers whereby expectations are exceeded both in services and costs. The Service Specialists will assure that any deviations in services are reported along with diligent meaningful effective efforts are bought forward to achieve as minimum the company’s and customers expectations.

 

This position will requiure the availability of nights and weekends -

 

Summary:



Service Specialist or Operations Agents are responsible for the execution and service of all extended offerings of AFC to its customers whereby expectations are exceeded both in services and costs. The SS or OA will assure that any deviations in services are reported along with diligent meaningful effective efforts are bought forward to achieve as minimum the company’s and customers expectations.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 Operations focusAssure that forwarding solution is set to exceed customer expectation. Example; deliver by 9am, tell agent 8am, confirm out for delivery by 7am, set and establish routing to achieve or surpass AFC’s standard. The standard is to get the POD with all cost within 30 mins of the AFC standard to perform the service.Report any service failures or variances in service BEFORE they occur.Report any deviation of services after service immediately Build quotes with margin goals within 30 mins of requestsManage cost within standard by all products / advise manager of deviations Assure that all data entry is accurate, who pays, po, ref# etc.

 Customer focusAnswer all calls on the 1st ringKnowledge of and execute new customer protocol (1st 5 shipments will receive “x” touches) notify manager and sales personDemonstrate knowledge of 4 step notification process Assure that quotes are given back to customers within 30 mins of requestNotify manger of any service failures and or unhappy customer along with implemented remedy / cure – suggested or already underway.

Qualifications:

 

·  One year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

·  Knowledge of airfreight industry a plus.

·  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 

·  Ability to write simple correspondence. 

·  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

·  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

·  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

·  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 

·  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
