 We are seeking several top notch technicians who will be working on telecommunications equipment in addition to SEPTA’s new  SMART Stations Project which will enhance the security of  our stations and facilities.

You must possess a high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license and technical school degree in electronics or telecommunications. Experience may be substituted for the degree. The experience must include a minimum of two years installation, maintenance and diagnostics and repair of telecommunications equipment, fiber optic systems, copper cable plant, radio frequency equipment and associated peripheral systems. This should include but not be limited to voice data, and video equipment. Work with testing devices including frequency and data signal generators, oscilloscopes, transmission measuring devices and volt-ohm meters.

You will be making connections, splicing, terminating communication cables and wiring.

You will be installing and repairing  Audio Visual Public Address, Closed Circuit Television, Emergency Call Boxes, Microwave as well as Telecomm Cable, Fibers and accessories.

You should feel comfortable performing rigging and scaffolding work including climbing of poles.

Passing of a paper/pencil multiple choice test inclusive of electronics and intermediate math will be necessary to pre-qualify.

 

This is a union position supporting an hourly wage of $24.67 per hour to start, after 6 months, $27.41. Work hours are from 2pm to 10pm, M-F.
