This analyst will be part of the world’s largest online seller of travel and will work closely with multiple business stakeholders and analysts to help make data-driven business decisions based on our site analytics technologies. As a member of the Strategy and Customer Insights Group you will be part of a small team delivering highly visible analysis, reporting and analytic support to the Expedia North America business team, as well as coordinating efforts and knowledge with our international points of sale and other Expedia brands, including hotels.com and Hotwire. The team reports to the President of Expedia North America and is essential to our aim of becoming the world’s most intelligent marketplace for travel. If you are looking for a position where you can tailor your analytics career, whether it be technical implementation, reporting and analysis, or support, training and consulting; then this position is for you.JOB DESCRIPTION:• Partner with business owners across departments, including Marketing, Merchandising and Finance, to identify and operationalize areas of opportunity based on available data points.• Streamline management-level processes and reporting to produce actionable insights across our multiple business units, product lines and marketing efforts.• Work with technical, marketing and retail contacts to understand, prioritize and develop tracking and reporting requirements for evolving site functionality and new capabilities.• Evangelize Expedia’s Web Analytics capabilities across the organization to accelerate integration into managerial decision making. Assist managers and analysts throughout the company to understand the power and value of analytic tools and provide them with the insights that contribute to the strategic goals of the organization.• Provide individual and group training sessions within the organization and provide internal support as the system continues to evolve with changes in Expedia’s and the vendor’s technology platforms.• Create, manage and maintain data repositories and documentation and for exec-level analytics, training, internal processes and implementation details.REQUIREMENTS:• Functional proficiency with Omniture SiteCatalyst reporting required.• Functional to expert proficiency in Excel is required, with an emphasis on nested formulas, charting and large data sets.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must-have.• 1+ years of experience working in an online or e-commerce environment with web analytics tools.• Ability to work independently and remain flexible and motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.• Basic knowledge of general internet technologies such as HTML, JavaScript and URL structures is required.• Working knowledge of SQL, previous web development experience, and knowledge of Tealeaf or Maxamine technologies is beneficial.• Previous experience in travel/hospitality sector a bonus.EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or related discipline preferred.EXPEDIA RECRUITER: Scott Corrigan.Additional Information: Travel Percentage: 5%
