About the Position:



We are seeking a dynamic General Manager to manage all operations within the company.  This includes directing on-site activity, customer and vendor relationships, account management, human resources, compliance, training, safety and equipment management.  This newly created leadership role reports to the Vice President and President.  The General Manager will have 10 direct reports and oversight responsibility for 25+ on-site employees.  General Responsibilities include:

  Oversee and participate in the ongoing recruitment, training, management and retention of operations employees.  Build partnerships with customers, continually finding ways to provide services that add value to their operation.Ensure compliance with safety regulations in hazardous material handling and promote safety awareness across the company. Partner with the sales team to identify and pursue new opportunities, prepare proposals and cost estimates, and continually improve and expand services offered.  Manage all vendor relations ensuring quality and cost efficiency.  Optimize relationships to effectively negotiate contracts and improve services offered to HWI.Develop and execute a continuing improvement program for each on-site facility, with particular attention to safety, quality and cost/efficiency.  Serve as a key member of the senior management team and assist in setting vision, determining strategic direction and implementing strategy.  Assist the President and Vice President with special projects as necessary.



Qualifications include:

5+ years successful management experience building a solid operations team.  Chemistry background, CHMM certification, Six Sigma and Industrial experience are highly desirable. A Bachelor’s degree is required. Must possess exceptional customer service orientation. Must be a driven self-starter who assumes responsibility and demonstrates the ability to function independently without large support resources.  Must possess a willingness to “roll up the sleeves” and work with team members to accomplish goals.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and excel under pressure.Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.  Must be able to relate to all levels of an organization and possess a command presence.
