Purchasing Associate

Safety-Kleen has an immediate opening for a Purchasing Associate in Plano, TX.  This position manages the daily administrative functions for procuring goods and services for all Safety-Kleen Branch service locations.  It is also responsible for managing the entire order-fulfillment process within assigned commodities from order inception through payment processing.

 

Responsibilities

  ·  Receives and reviews requisitions for completeness and validates proper supply sources.

·  Prepare and maintain a variety of records, logs and files related to purchasing activities and operations.

·  Plans and carries out activities within the responsibilities of the position to ensure prompt placing of orders for materials, and other related items in the quantity required when and where needed.

·  Communicates and works closely with all requisitioning locations, departments, and personnel to coordinate delivery schedules, provide order information, independently resolve invoice discrepancies, arrange returns, and check order receipts.

·  Assures all requirements and special terms and conditions are met.

·  Expedites purchase orders within assigned commodities.

·  Communicates with suppliers to place orders, expedite deliveries, solve invoice discrepancies, revise pickup and/or shipping schedules, arrange returns, notify of complaints or rejections, obtain shipping and forwarding information, and obtain pricing and availability information.

·  Communicates with other department personnel on cost of goods, pricing trends, inventories, and other matters, with the knowledge that these actions may result in minimizing the cost.

·  Ensures issues are forwarded to appropriate supply/purchasing managers.

 

Qualifications

·  Bachelors Degree required Alternative combinations of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

·1 - 3 years purchasing related experience.
