Accounting Team Member

Gensco has an immediate opportunity for a qualified Team Member to join our Accounting team in Tacoma.  Gensco is a growing, dynamic organization and we recognize that the right people, offering their ideas and expertise, will enable us to continue our success.

This position will perform a variety of accounting functions and provide excellent internal and external customer service by treating them fairly and responding to them in a timely manner.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:  (may perform one or more of the following)

 Customer Payment Application – all payments are applied and deposited each business dayCustomer Credit SupportAccounts PayableDirect Sales Shipment Confirmation– “Direct Sales Orders” are for product shipped from the vendor to the customer. Upon receiving the vendor invoice, Accounting performs the “shipment confirmation” functionGeneral Accounting Support

 

Education/Experience/Skills:

 High school diploma requiredAA degree preferredFunctional knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting processes and proceduresDemonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy in a multi-task environmentProficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), particularly ExcelCustomer service-oriented approach, responds to requests with a sense of urgencyProactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately Strong people skills, recognizes when to use formal or informal approach, not easily intimidated, accessible, ability to say “no” in a firm but polite mannerWilling to “think out of the box” and identify process improvement opportunitiesHigh degree of honesty, ethics and integrity with prior work experience handling confidential information preferredWorks effectively in a Team environmentCommunicates clearly and effectivelyAble to work sitting or standing and to move freely throughout the facilityAble to lift and carry equipment and supplies on a frequent basis
