Assistant Product Development Specialist - Consumer Products

Boston International is a trend setting company in Holliston, Massachusetts that manufactures, imports, and distributes high end gifts and home décor items from many resources, including companies located in England, Germany, Italy, Spain, China, Sri Lanka and the Philippines.  Additionally, we represent the wholesale distribution interests for The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in similar product sectors. We sell our merchandise to upscale gift and home stores throughout the United States. 

Working closely with the Director of Product Development, the Assistant Product Development Specialist will aid in the execution of product development and sourcing activities required to deliver new and innovative products in line with corporate initiatives.This position is responsible for coordinating all logistics related to getting an item developed and added to our product line.

The candidate must be experienced and comfortable with communicating with our global sources regarding design, price, packaging and shipping and managing product life cycles from inception through sales. 

Responsibilities also include working with our catalog and visual merchandising staff, gathering and processing pricing data, obtaining factory samples, ensuring quality control, and analyzing product categories to react to market forces and business goals.  The position has a focus on data management and tracking.

The successful candidate will have 1- 3 years experience and success in consumer product development and brand marketing, experience with global manufacturers and sources, strong research and market analysis skills.  Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, Photoshop and Illustrator experience a plus.
