Ellery Homestyles, a leader in the home fashion industry with product lines that encompass pillow, window, bedding, and seasonal throws is seeking an energetic Designer with home fashions background to work in our NYC office. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:Work as part of the design team creating the open line for market presentationWork  with customers and sales team to create and present  the product line both at market and follow up meetingsWork with sales team to develop product lines that are customer specific, hitting requirements by style and priceTravel with Sales Team to customer meetingsWork independently on projects as well as group projectsRequest, review and approve strike offs and handlooms for pattern, color, repeat and construction Request and review pre production and production samplesDaily communications with all of our overseas officesDevelop original designs from concept to finished product. Including working with overseas offices to get samples.Develop designs and programs based on direction from sales team and design directorPrepare instructions for production and create spec sheets. Create trend and presentation boards

 

Position Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Textile Design 3-5 years of experience in Textile Design within the Home Furnishings Industry.  Mass market experience a plusKnowledge of print techniques and jacquard/woven/embroidery constructions Excellent color sense Fabric knowledge including an understanding of terminologyProficiency in PC operation, Photo Shop and/or IllustratorKnowledge of CADStrong creative, artistic, and aesthetic skills and the ability to integrate  those with functional utility to product needs.Strong thinking and communication skills.Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.Ability to handle deadlines.Ability to work as a Team Member.
