Director of Sales (Turf Irrigation Supply)
Coordinate sales by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals and establish training programs for sales representatives. Analyze sales statistics gathered by staff to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and monitor the preferences of customers.
Determines annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies; analyzing trends and results.Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products. Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.Develop product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.Establishes and adjusts selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand.Implements national sales programs by developing sales action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; managing regional sales system improvements; implementing change.Completes national sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.Maintains national sales staff objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees in assigned districts; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Job Requirements:
4-year College Degree or equivalent.Minimum of 5 years experience in residential turf irrigation or green industry.Minimum of 5 years experience in field sales with territory management responsibility.Ability to travel overnight, including some weekends.Computer experience
