Driver / Warehouse assistant

STOCKROOM EXPEDITOR / DRIVER - No CDL required

 

 Applied Industrial Technologies, one of North America's leading industrial distributors, is seeking a driver / stockroom expeditor to join our Minneapolis, MN service center.

 

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

 

·  Perform duties to receive and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies; maintain stock areas; and prepare orders for shipment. 

·  Active involvement in the Company's Total Quality Management process as evidenced by continuous improvement of processes directed toward reducing costs, improving cycle time, increasing sales/gross profit and customer satisfaction.

·  Carries out policies and procedures as defined in the quality manual.

·  Continuous development through reading, schools, seminars and on-the-job training.

 

JOB DUTIES

 

·  Perform duties to receive and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies; maintain stock areas; and prepare orders for shipment. 

·  Work from purchase orders, bills of lading, packing slips, customer specifications, service center requests, shipping orders, written and verbal instructions.  Receive and examine condition of all deliveries; indicate acceptance or note discrepancies on bill of lading.  Check and match packing slip with purchase order, count and verify; record and route copies as prescribed.

·  Store items in bins, shelves, or other specified location; record as prescribed; maintain stock; consolidate areas; notify appropriate personnel levels.

·  Pull orders; count and verify items; record part numbers, quantity, weight, and the like on shipping orders; report discrepancies.  Wrap, label, and attach packing list as required.  Weigh packages; mark and apply postage; complete required paperwork; stack or store in staging area. 

·  Use lift and hand trucks as necessary to move parts and materials; use care to lift and balance loads properly; operate equipment in a safe manner.  Regularly check and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.  Exercise proper care in the use of equipment or materials. 

·  Detect and report faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations, and unusual conditions to supervision.  Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations; and maintain stock and work areas in a neat and orderly  condition. 

·  Perform other duties as assigned and directed. 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

 

·  Use ordinary arithmetic.  Work from purchase order, bills of lading, shipping orders.  Accuracy in counting, checking, recording.  Over three and up to five months experience.
