HR/Training Representative

Broder Bros., Co. is a leading distributor of imprintable sportswear and accessories in the United States and operates under the "Broder", "Alpha" and "NES" brands.  We operate the largest distribution network in the industry, which consists of 16 facilities strategically located throughout the U.S. with the ability to ship via ground parcel service to over 80% of the continental U.S. population within one business day and to over 98% of the continental U.S. population within two business days.  We operate within the imprintable sportswear and accessories market, which includes undecorated or “blank” T-shirts, sweatshirts, polo shirts, fleece, outerwear, caps, bags and other imprintable accessories that are decorated primarily for advertising and promotional purposes. We provide our decorator customers with value-added merchandising, marketing and promotional support that helps our customers grow their businesses. Our decorator customers in turn sell our products to end-consumers, primarily for advertising and promotional purposes.

 

We are currently seeking to fill an HR/Training Representative position in our Lewisbury, PA distribution center.  The HR/Training Representative conducts a broad spectrum of employee training programs both technical and developmental to enhance skill and optimize intelligence of the company’s human capital at the facility level and corporately, as directed by the Sr. Mgr., Corporate Training and Development.  Additionally this position provides Human Resources service and support in the form of employee relations, recruiting, benefits administration and other duties as directed by the facility’s Human Resources Generalist to meet the needs of the facility.  The HR/Training Representative is responsible for the following:

 



· Assist in assessing, proposing, and designing, developing and implementing training programs.

· Implement centrally distributed training programs.

· Maintain training materials, documentation, and facilities.

· Document and maintain appropriate on-the-job training records to ensure accountabilities with established guidelines.

· Follow-up with training efforts to evaluate training effectiveness using a four factor evaluation process.

· Recommend, design, develop and implement training aids to simplify and enhance the training process.

· Provide feedback to the Sr. Mgr., Training and Development regarding identified needs and operating status of all training programs and Certified Trainers at facility level.

· Recommend revisions and/or additions to existing training programs for all departments.

· In conjunction with the HR Generalist, facilitate the hiring and selection of all non-exempt employees.

· Provide support to HR department, as needed in all benefit administration areas: Medical, Dental, Life, and Short Term Disability.

· Maintain an active role in employee relations including the development and implementation of programs.

· Assist in New-Hire Orientation process of all facility employees.

· Maintain interaction and working knowledge of all departments through scheduled work periods within each area.

· Interact with employees, Supervisors, Managers, and the Sr. DC Manager to maintain an awareness of training needs.

· Participate in and/or direct safety committee.

· Provide assistance on other projects as directed by HR Generalist and Corporate Human Resources.

· Participate in corporate-wide initiatives, which may include travel to other facilities.

· Serve as a member of the Human Resources team providing assistance as needed.

 

Special Skills Required:

 

·  4 Year College Degree, preferred and/or 2-3 years relevant work experience

·  Strong working knowledge of distribution center operations.

·  Demonstrated leadership abilities

·  Strong verbal and written skills

·  Positive, upbeat attitude

·  Able to work flexible schedule

·  Able to work independently

·  Able to work and speak comfortably and effectively in front of groups of employees from

 various levels  as well as strong platform skills

·  Demonstrated proficiency of PC and Microsoft Office

·  Ability to analyze, understand and effectively communicate training material

·  Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws preferred

·  Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
