Job Description

We are seeking a creative, talented, self-motivated product designer to work in an established Giftware and Home D?©cor (could say consumer products) company.  We are looking for the product designer who can help take the company to the next level.  Candidates need to be willing to work on short deadlines, possess the ability to develop designs from concept and adapt existing designs to meet business needs.  Candidate should have ability to spot trends and translate to the product line.





Qualifications

· Bachelor of Arts or equivalent work experience.

· Experience of 2-4 years would be preferred but entry level will be considered.

· Proficiency using MAC based applications such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop a plus.

· Good understanding of both 2-D and 3-D design.

· Ability to generate and present new product concepts.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

· Ability to multi-task.

· Hand illustration a plus.

· Good sense of aesthetics.

· Portfolio is an important part of the interviewing process but not required.


Responsibilities

· Design and provide product specifications that clearly communicate details necessary for development of accurate samples.

· Monitor competitive, fashion and market trends.

· Analyze consumer needs and identify new product and design opportunities.

· Interact with Sales, Marketing and Importing to ensure the timely introduction of competitive and cost effective new products.

· Interpret trends into meaningful new product recommendations.

· Domestic and international travel for product development and sourcing.

· Must be a team player, flexible, strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize efficiently.

· Good communication and presentation skills.
