Position title: Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician

 

Position Location:  Lowcountry of South Carolina

 

Position is available immediately

 

Position Summary:          Laboratory inspection of incoming product to insure

compliance to applicable regulations and standards.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Check product to applicable standards

·        Prepare related reports and documentation

·        Maintain and calibrate all laboratory equipment

·        Administer/assist in laboratory accreditation during 3rd party auditing

·        Maintain laboratory accreditation leve1, files and documents

 

Knowledge/Experience:

·        Certified or equivalent laboratory technician

·        3-5 years direct job-related experience required

·        Well organized, clean and orderly, safety and health conscientious work habits

·        Familiarity with FDA regulations and other internationally recognized health and food contact standards preferred

 

Quantitative Data:

·        Responsible for lab-equipment valued at $150,000; and development of annual test budget

 

Decision Making Authority

·        Pass/Fail

·        Conformance/Non-conformance

·        Health Risk/No Health Risk

·        Compliance to standards and regulations

·        Missing or incomplete information trail/complete documentation available

 

Recommendations Expected:

·        Stop production or shipments to customers

·        Quarantine product, awaiting results

·        Input/feedback to documentation and test structure

·        Interpretation for test results

 

 

 

 

 

Additional Information:

Regular physical and chemical testing will be conducted to insure compliance to

industry standards and international regulatory requirements.  The product to be tested by this qualified candidate is regularly compared to “consumer goods & products” the candidate should be familiar with regular laboratory test practices of common materials such as:  steel, enamel on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, silicon rubber, plastic materials, enameled or glazed stoneware, cast iron and enamel on cast iron.  It is likely that his position will also participate in corrective action, problem solving and failure analysis teams.
