Position Description:

Norandex Building Material Distribution is a $800 million unit of Saint-Gobain & is one of the largest distributor of vinyl siding in the U.S. The company operates 170 branches in 37 states & sells exterior building products to new home builders & remodeling contractors in their respective territories. Primary products include vinyl siding; vinyl, wood & alum windows/doors; decking, fencing, & rain carrying gear. Other prods may also be sold, depending on need of local market, including such things as carpeting, power tools & metal forming machines. Norandex is currently recruiting for a Regional Inventory Analyst.The Regional Inventory Analyst is responsible for analyzing and adjusting inventory investment to optimize inventory levels while driving consistent customer service levels across all branches and hubs within assigned Regional(s). The Regional Inventory Analyst is responsible for ensuring proper execution of inventory control policies and procedures through exception identification, branch & hub staff training and consultation and process improvement initiatives.The Regional Inventory Analyst reports to the Division VP or Regional General Manager and receives functional guidance from corporate Operations/Inventory Manager to ensure consistency in operating practices, policies and guidelines.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Inventory Investment and Planning· Management of inventory replenishment program - Analysis of branch and hub inventory levels and product demand to set and manage safety stock, replenishment targets and order quantities to meet target service levels.· Reduction of slow moving and obsolete inventory (SMOI) - Analysis of branch SMOI and creation of strategies to accelerate the movement at highest value.· Inventory investment balancing - Analysis of inventory levels across Regional(s) of branches and distribution hubs and creation of strategies to balance inventory across all while minimizing logistics costsInventory Risk Management· Inventory Control – o Monitoring and verification of branch & hub physical inventory countso Monitoring and verification of branch & hub inventory cycle countso Monitoring and verification of inventory parts master executiono Consultation of branch & hub staff on exceptions to inventory controls policy, procedure and systems· Assist Corporate Audit with financial and operational inventory controls audits.Inventory Management Training· Training branch and hub teams on use of IT systems, operations procedures and tools to optimize inventory investment and controls· Train branch teams on Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and safety stock analysis tools and systems· Train branch teams on inventory control policy and procedures (i.e. cycle counting, physical inventory, purchase through sale procedures, parts master management, etc.)Other Duties and Responsibilities:· Analysis and input on the layout and design of branch and hub facilities· Analysis and input on branch and hub logistics infrastructure and systems· Analysis and input on vendor logistics· Other responsibilities and special projects as assigned by the Division VP or Regional General Manager.Essential Physical Requirements:Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and able to go into and move about in a branch warehouse or distribution center.Must be able to pick up and carry products of moderate weight in order to assist in cycle counts and physical inventoriesAbility and willingness to travel 50-70% of the time.Environmental Factors:The functions of this position are performed in both a climate-controlled environment and outdoors. As a result, the incumbent will be required to work in extremes of cold, heat and humidity depending on the season and location.Required Education, Experience and Skills:A bachelor’s degree in business administration or relevant discipline is preferred.Successful candidates will have 5-10 years relative experience and background in inventory and/or supply chain management. Must be able to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and coaching skills to effectively lead a diverse staff and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.Must have a strong understanding of forecasting, planning and inventory management practices.Strong problem solver.The candidate should be well versed in all Microsoft Office products.
