Senior Graphic Designer / Art Director

 

A high-quality, well-established home decor company in Los Angeles, is looking for an experienced Senior Graphic Designer / Art Director. This position will work closely with the marketing team, product development, outside designers and internal staff designers and photographer.

Requirements:

1) Providing high-quality, cost-effective art direction and production of product catalogs and supplements consisting of 2,000+ items, packaging material, assembly instructions, trade show material, advertising and promotional materials.

2) Maintains quality control of projects and makes recommendations to improve overall workflow.

3) Assist in formulating overall corporate design concepts.

4) Conceptualize, develop, and follow through on decorative products for the retail markets.

5) May manage Graphic Designer I and/or II position including recruiting, hiring, performance evaluations.

6) Coordinate the activities of outside resources such as in the development of creative services projects.

7) Ensure consistent corporate graphic guidelines are met on each project.

8) Responsible for all phases of digital postproduction, from editing and retouching to image archiving.

9) Assist with all aspects of production/project, including meeting objectives, timeframes, budgets involving various departments. 

10) Maintain control over information updates such as update pricing, change in design, etc.

11) Demonstrate a commitment and high sense of urgency to internal customer needs and project objectives.

Qualifications:

1) Degree in graphic design or advertising and/or 5+ years experience in graphic design or as Art Director.

2) The qualified applicant must be familiar with current interior design trends and possess strong drawing skills.

3) Creative expertise in design and layout and understanding of printing terminology and equipment.

4) Highly proficient in Corel Draw, Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, PC/Mac and/or other solid modeling programs as well as an understanding of various manufacturing methods is a plus.

5) Solid background in digital photography a plus.

6) Ability to produce quality designs in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

7) Must be a team player, flexible, and have strong verbal/written communication and excellent organizational skills.
