URGENT! - Entry Level Recruiter wanted

The News Group, America's largest wholesaler and distributor of magazines and books is seeking a permanent, full-time, Recruiter for our Houston Office and Distribution Center soon to be relocated near the intersection of Beltway 8 and Hwy 290. The major responsibilities of this position will be:
Sourcing candidates (primarily non-exempt positions such as Drivers, Merchandisers, and Warehouse personnel in Houston and surrounding areas, plus occasional management and executive positions) through newspaper and Internet advertisements, searching Internet resume databases, working with state employment agencies, walk-in applicants, job fairs, employee referrals, etc. over the telephone, fax, and through email. Screening candidates through telephone or face to face interviews, background checks, skill testing, etc. Scheduling follow-up interviews with hiring managers Follow-up after employment offers are extended to obtain all new-hire paperwork Provide daily progress reports to the Human Resources Department regarding the status of all open positions

The ideal candidate will have at least one full year of experience as a Recruiter, but we will strongly consider other candidates with the proper aptitude, attitude, and stable work history.  Ability to speak Spanish is a big plus, but it is not required.  Must not be afraid of making phone call after phone call after phone call after phone call to work with line management and tenaciously follow-up on candidates.  On occasion, some overnight travel will be required.  Candidates who don't absolutely love to recruit (or who don't think they can learn to love it), who are afraid of deadlines, unwilling to try new things, hesitant to assist other departments in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation, or who give up easily need not apply.
