The Business Development Project Manager is an important leadership position within the Business development organization. This is an exciting position for career-oriented professionals who seek a very challenging role that is tightly coupled with objective position performance metrics and departmental performance metrics. An extensive knowledge base of all of the concepts, practices, and techniques necessary to perform as a professional project/program manager is necessary to be selected for this position. The successful candidate can generally expect to drive a range of business initiatives by leveraging sound business judgment with your razor-sharp management, problem-solving, communication and analytical skills. This individual will support cross functional teams, including Marketing, Call Center, Supply Chain and IT to help execute new business initiatives in support of NutriSystems growth plan.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor or management.
Define, plan and drive cross-functional and team initiatives (e.g., development of business plans and marketing plans)
Work closely with cross-functional teams of multiple business units to support the development and execution of product roadmaps even in the face of geographical distance
Identify, analyze, and gather business requirements, develop project proposals and execute test plans
Establish and track organization accountabilities and Business Development Scorecard
Facilitate meetings and communication with users and technical associates
Represent Business Development and work cross-functionally with teams from IT, Finance, Legal, Logistics, Marketing, and Planning
Evangelize Business Developments business initiatives to NutriSystem
Design, development, and implement functional specifications based on business requirements
Qualifications
Ability to create technical collateral and participate in the creation of communication plans
Ability to conduct surveys, ergonomic studies, use case modeling, and business process mapping
Working knowledge of Internet technologies and knowledge management frameworks and models
Proven ability to interface with all levels in the firm; to manage up, down, and across effectively
Top performer who can motivate and inspire large and diverse teams
Able to manage multiple projects on a real-time basis
Demonstrate ability to identify and resolve operational and integration challenges
Think strategically at a global level and effectively develop key processes, procedures and communications that facilitate business planning and execution
Extensive cross-group coordination at all levels
Excellent communication skills
Ability to build compelling internal/external presentations and comprehensive business review materials
Superb interpersonal skills are essential
Ability to work under pressure in order to deploy critical business development projects
Excellent oral presentation skills including the ability to simplify complex thoughts/ideas
Excellent writing skills including the ability to craft action-packed, idea-filled sentences
Excellent and unblemished track record in delivering large-scale projects to market
Excellent negotiation skills including an awareness of key negotiating positions/strategies
Ability to perform basic ROI and TCO analyses and budgetary planning and execution
Ability to perform requirements analysis and requirements generation functions
Excellent active listening skills and listen effectively and the courage to ask tough questions
Ability to travel to/from home office up to 20% of the calendar year (by air, rail, and/or car)
Education/Experience
At least 5 years of experience in a mid-level project management (or Big 5 consultative) position
Bachelors degree in a related discipline (e.g., Management Info. Systems, Communications, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Philosophy, and/or Liberal Arts). An equivalent combination of training and professional work experiences that provides the requisite skill set is acceptable.
Advanced degree (Masters/Doctorate) in the same or in a related discipline is a definite plus. PMI certification as a PMP is a definite plus.
