Our client is a growing, world class, appliance manufacturer located near Oshkosh, WI; about 90 minutes from both Madison and Milwaukee.  This is a solid, well run company where the right person can grow his or her career.

 

Requirements:

1. B.S. Mechanical Engineering or a closely relate field.

2. 5+ years in the development of durable consumer products using both sheet metal and plastic parts

3. Problem solving and good communication skills, written and verbal

4. Good 3D design skills, they use Pro-e Wildfire

5. Any FEA experience would be helpful

 

Duties:

1. You will be involved in all aspects of components/system development from concept, design, and development of prototypes, related testing and evaluation of results.  This position is responsible for insuring that all efforts are consistent with sound engineering and that designs meet or exceed expectations.  You will use Pro-E and AutoCAD.  This will require leading up to a 3 less experienced engineers.  Examples of some parts you will design include: valves, ignition controls, drives, pulleys, and bearings

2. Problem solving will be another major component of the problem.  You will analyze data to find solutions for identified problems and establish test procedures to validate the redesign. FEA will be one of your tools.

3. You will be involved with Bill of Materials and troubleshooting on the factory floor.

 

This person can come from any electro-mechanical, durable consumer products manufacturing company that uses sheet metal and plastics in its products.  However, competitors that the company would like to see candidates from include: Whirlpool, Maytag, GE Appliance, Frigidaire, Dexter, American Dryer, Milnor Appliance, Watertown Metal Products and Sub-Zero / Wolf.
