Distribution Center Security Guard

Now Hiring PT to FT Security Guard

 

This position is 32 hours per week, may increase to 40 hours per week as needed. The shift is graveyards, working 11:00pm to 7:00am 4-days a week. Will include weekends. Prior experience is helpful.

 

Job Purpose:

Maintains safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.



Duties:

* Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.



* Obtains help by sounding alarms.



* Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.



* Controls traffic by directing drivers.  Checks drivers in and out of facility with NAVIS computer system.



* Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.



* Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.



* Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.



* Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.



* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.



Skills/Qualifications:

Minimum 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to pass a drug test and criminal history background check.  Ability to preserve confidentiality of information. Accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Basic computer and data entry skills.Lifting, Surveillance Skills, Deals with Uncertainty, Judgment, Objectivity, Dependability, Emotional Control, Integrity, Safety Management, Professionalism, Reporting Skills.  Previous military, private security and/or retail security experience is helpful.
