PSE is currently looking for a professional to join us as a Credit Risk Analyst (job #3027).  This position supports PSE’s wholesale energy trading activities by analyzing the financial and operational condition of trading counterparties to recommend counterparty credit limits and internal credit ratings, measuring and monitoring counterparty exposure to ensure compliance with the Company’s Credit Risk Policy and, when necessary, taking action to mitigate credit risk.  These activities help ensure the Company’s energy hedging activities successfully provide affordable gas and electricity to our customers.  Responsibilities include running and maintaining the information in PSE’s credit risk systems, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, responding to internal audit inquiries, performing collateral margining, and communicating changes in credit limits and credit status to the trading floor.

 

The Credit Risk Analyst will also perform counterparty credit analyses for other key areas within PSE in support of energy resource acquisitions and major maintenance and repair agreements.  They will measure and monitor PSE’s credit liquidity position on a daily basis and, on an annual basis, prepare liquidity reports for an external credit ratings agency. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring that PSE continues to be an industry leader.

 

Essential Functions:

Support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and internal audit inquiries.

Run and maintain credit risk system

Perform collateral margining as needed.

Maintain credit information in third-party online trading systems.

Perform counterparty credit analysis.

Monitor compliance with the Company’s Credit Risk Policy.

Perform credit liquidity analysis.

 

 

 

Required:

Bachelors Degree in relevant field (Finance, Accounting, etc.) or equivalent experience.

Advance Microsoft Access and Excel skills

2 years general finance, accounting and/or risk management experience.

Basic understanding of financial statements

Strong communication skills

Highly organized and detail oriented

 

Desired:

1 year credit risk experience or 3 years general energy industry experience.

Financial statement analysis experience

Strong quantitative analysis skills
