Packaging & Product Designer

POSITION’S PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

 

This position will be responsible for creating and developing innovative new consumer product packaging graphics for the picture frame and photo album industry. The right candidate must possess the ability to interpret retail-packaging trends, promote brand integrity and create effective new designs for products sold across all channels of distribution. The ideal candidate is competent at communicating ideas quickly and has the agility to reshape ideas while working closely with other marketing and merchandising professionals. The organization, tracking, and scheduling of many different projects for both domestic and foreign manufacturing is an integral part of this position. You must be able to take a job from initial design concepts through production of digital mechanicals. 

 

In addition, the ideal candidate will create and develop innovative new products for the photo frame and photo album industry as part of a highly successful and international design organization. You will be asked to interpret key design directions into a wide variety of styles and materials for products sold across all channels of distribution. Your abilities to create models, sketch, draw, paint, create prototypes, and use a wide range of computer programs will be utilized within a fast paced and dynamic marketing group. All designers are encouraged to travel and research the latest fashion trends, explore and develop new materials, and invent new product concepts. This is a highly motivated and well-respected group of professionals eager to expand their team with the right individuals.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

¨ The right candidate will have the ability to interpret trend direction, and create original artwork in a wide category of styles.

¨ Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to handle multiple projects at once. You should be competent at communicating your ideas quickly with rough sketches (either hand drawn or computer generated) and have the ability to reshape your ideas as each line of products develops.

¨ We produce a wide variety of styles and types of artwork each season, and a jack-of-all-trades-designer is welcome to apply.

¨ Photography art direction & styling experience is a plus.

¨ Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Marketing, Fine Arts, or experience in product design and development in a related field would be a plus.

¨ Must have working knowledge of design applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Photo Shop & InDesign on a Macintosh platform.
