Procurement Commodity Specialist

We are looking for a Procurement Commodity Specialist. Company is looking to expand! POSITION TITLE: Commodity Specialist – Indirect  RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop commodity or category project plans, manage supplier performance, and assist in selecting new sources and suppliers Develop capability to obtain the lowest possible long-term cost through negotiations, competitive bidding, and market and supplier knowledge. Analyze and evaluate quotations from potential suppliers. Aggressively seek and recommend cost savings possibilities based upon new sources, substitutions, improved systems, or new item. Collect and review spend from all business units. During implementation phase, oversee performance in supply, cost, quality, and delivery Negotiate commodity contracts to meet business unit’s quality and cost goals; ensure acceptable quality level and continuity of supply for all assigned commodities Build strong value-added relationships with suppliers, internal customers, and cross-functional departments Develop project plans, deliverables, and milestones for each sourcing project Maintain and provide current understanding of industry best practices and technology trends to team members and business partners Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of sourcing strategies for key indirect project categories Develop RFIs and RFPs. Expected to work with a minimum of supervision consistent with prior experience. Performs special activities as requested by management.  QUALIFICATIONS: Analytical, Financial, Strong facilitation and Negotiation skills required Purchasing and/or e-sourcing experience desired Experience managing supplier relationships desired Experience  writing and modifying supplier contracts a plus Must be able to multi-task in an ever-changing environment  Must have the ability to work well in teams as well as work independently Advanced skills with MS Excel and MS Word.
